Just a quick wheel question!
Discussion
I no i no sooooooo booring but i'm popping out tomorrow morning to buy (order) a set of pro race 1.2's and would like to no if these figures sound ok.
Rear 8*18 et 27 Tyre 245 40 18 (toyo t1r )
Front 7*17 et 15 Tyre 225 45 17 (toyo t1r)
I've knocked 10mm off the standard off sets so as to bring the wheels out by 10mm each just because i think they look a little set back at the moment and it looks like there's plenty of room to bring them out a little, wots the verdict then guys on my figures?

Personally i wouldn't alter the ET unless you HAVE to,particularly at the front. That said, have you thought of wider rims to allow a wider tyre choice? My Griff ran beautiffully on 265 rears, and this needed a 9" ET40 rim in 18" dia.I still ran the fronts at ET25 on 17x8",which would suit your 225's a treat

A 265 tyre sounds very very wide lol, to be honest there's a little bit of a cost issue hear as well as not wonting to go to wide, if i start creeping up to 8 and 9 inch rims respectivley then i'll be paying another 300 on top for tyres and said wheels, i'm happy with those figures i've given on a visuall aspect but do wonder why you have said leave the off set at standard?
I think you're making a few mistakes here.By my reckoning you will extend your front wheels out by approx 10mm which might not sound a lot but will make quite a visual impact.Same for the backs except your pushing them out by approx 14mm.I should look here http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp and play about for a while and maybe not push them out so far as what you are. Also your tyre sizes you have chosen will give you a huge amount more on your rolling radius's and will cause all kinds of problems .for the fronts I would be looking at getting 215/40/17 and the rears 245/35/18to keep your rolling radius almost the same as you have now.Look here.... http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=p...
My griff was runing these sizes with no problems ( actually better than the 15/16's)My wheel sizes were 7.5x 17with a 30mm offset and 8x18with a 35mm offset. The wheels use to sit in about the same place as the 15/16s did.I would have a re-think........

I'd give the rear the 8.5" rims that it always should have had. How do you get et37 for the rear? I'd rather knock off a couple of mm than add it on.fr 17*7 215 40 17 et25

Bloody hell the wheel place is gonna be sick of me if i dont make my mind up soon lol, they rang me back today with the price for the above sizes but i've not orderd them as i'm working in there earea on wednesday so i'm off down there to pay in cash on the wednesday. If i went for an 8.5" rear wot tyre size would i be looking at and while i'm at it should i give the fronts a 7.5" ? I thought the rear et standard was 37?
If i was reading this post buy someone else i just think for god sakes man just get on with it lol, so i'm sorry for keep draging it up.

ET rear 35 is standard, change to 33 to 30 if yu like but I wouldn't increase it :-)

Incidently the price for the above wheels with tyres toyo T1r where 960 squid but i'm guessing its gonna be a little more with the 8.5 rear rim but i'll let ya know :-)
