Avoiding flatulence jokes....
How loud is the wind noise in your car? When I get above about 60-65ish there is a quite loud wind noise in the car, the sources are: somewhere near the front of the door (by my right knee), and through the top of the window.
The first one I just need to find the panel gap and close it, but the top of the window one is annoying - the rubber seal where the window meets the roof 'lifts up' at speed and creates a gap. Is this normal? Is there a solution? The gap is closed when stationary/slow.
Cheers,

Hi, you will never get rid of wind noise is this particular car my freind its one of many anoying ( caracter) aspects to the chimaera, the footwell one i have never bothered to investigate but the window one i have tried lifting the window on the adjuster untill it seats up to the rubber but then you will have a problem closing the door as the window will trap the rubber lip inside, most modern convertibles lower the window slightly automaticaly when you open the door and shut the window when the door is closed but lets face it i'm just glad to have morris minor seat belts :-)

This should be easy. Behind the carpet by your right knee, directly in front of the door edge you will probably find a big hole. Pull back the carpet, cover it with something suitable , gaffer tape it in place then stick the carpet back.bigdods said:

That isn't normal - assuming the roof panel is properly located and not deformed, there's either somethng wrong with the seal or the window glass isn't rising high enough. With window down half way poke a screw driver through the "brush' about half way along - there's a slot-head screw that adjusts window up and down. Maybe try this first before changing the sealthe top of the window one is annoying - the rubber seal where the window meets the roof 'lifts up' at speed and creates a gap. Is this normal? It seems to vary between cars - my last two have been really loud for wind noise - but my current car is much much quiter... a couple of passengers have even commented on it. Main source on my previous cars has been round the top and leading edge of the side windows, and although I tried I could never got rid of it.Hut49 said:

I get a lot of wind noise from my wing mirrors. The driver's side has to be "pushed out" to the furthest point to get good visibility, but as a consequence i get lots of wind noise. If i pull it bak in a click (so i now can't see anything through it), or put tape over the little rubber bands, the noise is dramatically reduced.
I have pulled my roof seal forward slightly so that about an inch protrudes from the front. When you put the roof on this bends down and is trapped by the door preventing the rubber being lifted by the wind.
ok , I am lying I didnt pull it out it just went like that over time but it does the trick !

Interesting ideas - I'm going to see if there is any leeway to raise the window up a bit. And the idea about pulling the rubber seal forward a bit seems good.
I haven't noticed any noise from the wing mirrors, but with all the other noises it may be masked.
