How to make ignition turn off lights

Yep... done it again. Left the lights on and came back to a flat battery... again. I know its my fault but work makes me turn on headlights when i enter their parking area and because it is day time, I cant see that they are left on.

So anyone done a lights-on buzzer mod or tweaked the ignition to turn off lights when not in use? Just wondering how best to modify the wiring...

A buzzer seems to be the easiest option

Any advice / suggestions o-knowledgeable crowd?

I made up a few kits a couple of years ago for peeps at the griff growl '06.It's very simple to do,and costs very little.You will need a 12v buzzer from maplins,RS or similar,a couple of connectors and a soldering iron.If you connect one side of the buzzer to one of the wires coming from your dash illumination switch,the one that has power when side lights are on.Then connect the other side of the buzzer to the white with purple tracer(it is on griffs,anyway)wire which runs from the door light switch(just remove the switch to check the wire colour,first).You can find/tap into this wire in the loom running down behind the carpet behind the door hinge area,near the door seal.Thats pretty much it,save for a bit of double sided trim tape or similar,to stick the buzzer out of sight.I sited mine under the steering column.I know some advocate the need for diodes in the circuit,but i never could quite see the point myself,and mine run happily without,still going strong when i sold it earlier this year,and proved very useful!

Doh... I am such an idiot, i never thought of using the dash illumination. Thats dead easy to get to...
