I spent 3 hours in stop-start traffic this weekend queuing for the Biggin Hill Air Show on a narrow country lane. It didn't overheat, I stalled it one and it stared first time. I am so proud.

About 8" thicker than the right one I reckon......

Good to hear she behaved herself.

I think you have a PH overdose. You should keep away from this Forum for a while and you will find your confidence in your car will return.hehe

I can sympathise. My Chimaera 500 used to hate stop-start until I cured its overheating issues with a re-cored rad, lower temperature thermostat and otter switch.

And the hot start problem is well known, although mine never suffered from it.

So, yes, I can see why Steve was relieved and proud.

Funny how you end up feeling quite pleased that it didn't overheat when in traffic like that. I had a similar experience the other year queuing for a show and my biggest concern was parking over dry grass when I finally got there (potential for fire due to heat frm exhaust etc). Despite every confidence that the car would be fine I still spent the queue watching the temp and oil pressure gauges. In the daily hack I'd have never even considered looking.

In my Golf the gauge goes to 90 and stays there, never moves a millimeter no matter what the car is doing, I suspect VW frig it to do that.

Of course in the Tiv it is always yoyoing up and down, coupled with being able to feel the heat from under the bonnet. I am also always surprised when it doesnt overheat, somewhat irrational as it never has.
