Story so far, fans work as I have touched a screw driver across the otter switch terminals and thy come on. checked the fuses ok but thought this or the fans would not have come on. replaced the relay on the fuse box! So me thinks that it's the otter switch, does this ring true and are they landrover or something else? and are there temp types you can buy?

ta in advance.

Sounds like your otter switch is faulty if the fans come on when the two wires to the otter switch
are shorted.
Only cheap from the likes of tvr parts

If you buy one from tvrcarparts (or in fact any TVR supplier) they will supply you the right item that swithes at the appropriate temperature. Its not worth shopping around for something this cheap, just buy it from those who know :-)

Good opportunity to upgrade to the Leven one? I've changed mine for this and the lower operating thermostat.

£25 for an otter switch is well over the top.

that included P&P , I was just pointing out that the cost of the fix is minimal . Oh and I made an error, It actually came from clevor trevor not trv car parts .
