Took the Chim out for a drive yesterday and as I got to the end of the road and stopped, the revs dropped to 300 and the engine died.

Didn't think too much of it.

However, keeping an eye on it, I noticed that the majority of the time it was fine but occassionally the revs would dip to about 300 when stationery, then hunt till it reached about 800. Sometimes it would stall, sometimes not..

As the car has just come out of the garage, I'm going to give them a call back, but any ideas as to what could be causing this?

The stepper motor was recently replaced.. So shouldn't do that. Will have a check to see if it is working properly this weekend.

All of mine have had weird idling at different times, and different days. I just ignore it, and treat it as one of those things. I've developed the technique over the years of right foot on brake & throttle together in "idling" situations.

Garages! Servicing a car can lead to all sorts of problems hehe Could just be a poor connection on one of the engine management connections. Disconnect and reconnect them all and see what happens. If it gets worse then dont blame me! rolleyes

Try cleaning out the plenum too, that can sometimes work. Steppers can get gummed up quickly, give it a clean anyway just so you can eliminate that and look for other causes.

Its as new as it can possibly be. Actually a whole 25 miles new.

So I doubt it can get gummed up quite that quickly..

But had a look and still looks clean.

Good idea. Off to play with connections. With any luck I won't blow the whole thing up
