I know this has been covered before but I cant find it anywhere. I have just got my hands on some from a Tamora, whats the best way to sort the hubs. I know you can get them for £350 from sport automotive but if theres a DIY way I would rather get my hands dirty. Not too bothered about brakes I will be fabricating new brackets for some monster discs anyway. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Weld one of the holes up on each hub and re-drill them.........

The rears are OK to do like this, but the fronts are a little close to the edge - best to make some slightly larger re-inforcing discs which are held on by short machine screws and drill through them both with the correct PCD.

You did get all rear spiders didn't you?

I just (2 months ago) chucked a set of hubs and rings out (I'd 3/4 finished them but just put my hand in pocket instead......I'd welded all the holes up & re-drilled which in hindsight wqas not a good idea) - asked a few times on here but had no takers!

Sportmotive at £350 isn't a bad price, but you'll probably need bearings etc on top as I never managed to get the hubs off without dislodging/separating them........

You'll probably find (if they're the same as the 18") that the fronts are different offsets to the rears - the rears are the closest to the standard chim.

You'll also need some spigot rings as they're different between the Tam & the Chim/Griff......

Just check they're straight & not cracked.....

Just buy the kit of Ian @ Sportmotive, he's a great guy and you'll know its done right, without any bodges! He's done plenty and got everthing you need to do the conversion and charges naff all really for the work envolved. I run 4 rear 18" spider's with no interference issues. Safety should be key when modifying motors and insurance
