On the subject of Chim numberplates, my friend has a Leven grille on her 400 Chim. The car has been overheating very quickly in traffic. I changed thermostat and otter switch to no avail. The numberplate was fixed directly to the grille and seemed to me that it was cutting off too much airflow so I took it off temporarily which seemed to cure the problem. I'm just going to refit it to the bumper, just below the grille.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

overheating in normal conditions shouldn't happen IMHO if your engine/coolant system is up to scratch... moving the numberplate might help, but it's treating the symptoms not the cause.
