Car conked out mid hoon yesterday eve! No spark from coil. Coil resistances ok, fuel pump running so immobiliser not engaged, so suspect it could be the ignition module? 12v is present at coil.

Any other possible causes? Where is best to buy one?

Cheers, Jon

You can test the coil by briefly earthing the -ve side with the ignition on. You should get a solid spark off it when you disconnect the earth. When I say briefly I mean a fraction of a second - don't keep it earthed any longer than that because the coil will overheat quite quickly.

Thanks Peter!. Just measured 1.0 ohm primary. 8k ohm secondary. Earthed the -ve momentarily and got no spark out. just sparking where i was grounding the coil terminal. Could not see a spark from the secondary lead even with a 1mm gap away from a plenum bolt. Could be the coil then.
