I'm loving my new 450 however I feel it would benefit from a few pops and bangs on the over run and a bit more noise at high revs. Inside the car it actually far more civilised than my VX!

I was contemplating the cherry bomb conversion that Offords do however I'm a bit concerned that on the few occasions it goes on the motorway the noise will make my ears bleed. The missus would not be happy on those long runs to Skye. We will also be heading for Goodwood this year and that could be a problem.

Also, is there anywhere in Scotland that can do something similar and does anyone have any experience or a sound file of the result?

Cheers

Rory

Just search 'TVR Chimaera' on youtube, alot of the clips that come up are people with sleeved pipes.

I have not had it done yet either, same as you concerned on making it too noisy on long trips. Guess the only way is to have a ride in one to hear first hand.

I've had the conversion done and the noise whilst on the motorway is not that much more than normal - but it is obnoxious in town - perfect!

You should be able to get it done at any garage happy to do a bit of welding. All that offords and many other places do is take off the exhaust, cut open the back box, cut out the perforated pipes, weld in some solid pipes and weld the back box back up. If you do all the cutting from the top you don't even see the mod when it's back on the car as it's hidden on top of the exhaust.
