Annoying rattle

Coming from underneath the Chim only on tickover like something was buzzing, anyway jacked the car up and tracked it down to a loose large metal plate in the middle of the car which sits almost directly under the gearbox and has a cut out in it for the exhaust, its got about 8 large bolts holding it on, anyway it was rattling about so all tightened and it seems ok, is it just a cover plate or guard ??

I can't remember 100%, but i *think* it has some exhaust mounts on it.

Ah would make sense as it was rattling a lot, thought it might just be resonance but if exhaust is bolted to it then deffo yeah, thanks

Firstly, thats a nice car you have their,
was sad to see it go!

the exhaust silencer, thats now empty and only there for the mot man, bolts via some rubber mounts to the plate. then the plate to the chassis.

with the noise and vibration it needs nipping up from time to time.
