This is probably a bit of a stupid question, especially for someone who is in the middle of revamping his entire suspension, but, how do I go about removing the spring from the damper? I thought it would be a simple case of undoing the collers with a C-spanner, but just had a look and that clearly isn't the case as the damper adjustment knob is in the way!!

There are almost identical to the ones below, except not nearly as shiney!

Cheers all, Dan smile

There is normally a slot in the top spring retaining plate which once the preload on the spring has been wound off can be slid out allowing the spring to come off over the top.

Ahh, knew I was missing something obvious! Cheers.

By the way, will I need a spring compressor to take off the preload?

No just back off the adjusters with c spanner and top part will become loose which has a slot in it once removed then the spring can slide off.

They are indeed Leda's, well spotted! I was going to send them off to Leda for a service, I wonder if Gaz would do it any cheaper. Do you know where abouts they are based?
