i don`t know the factory settings for the ride height. i set the front at 150mm and rear 160mm .the car looks higher may be 15mm ajustment , what i would like to say is ajusting the height as ironed out many problems
the car does not hit speed ramps
the front end clonk as gone
the car seems to ride much nicer
im happy with the results and some of you who have had problems with shock absorbers should check your ride height .!

I totally agree Daz, I live in cambridgeshire where the roads are piggin awful and I have a flat sump and exhaust to prove it!! Raised the ride height a wee bit and bingo , no big bumps and a much more agreeable drive. Not quite as sexy to look at but well worth the sacrifice.

Daz
Where are you measuring from?
If its from the corners of the outriggers I wouldn't go much lower than 140 fr/150mm rear and remember that unloading the wheel to adjust ride height will give a false reading on height until the suspension settles so I would run it round the block before checking height.

behind the front wheels at the edge from a (triangliar plate)
in front of the rear wheels on the edge from a(triangliar plate )
the plate is welded to the rail going along side the sill and across the chassis .

Sorry to crash this thread, but i have been worried about the low ride height on my Chim for a while now.
I have Nitrons fitted, and the car grounds out quite often (yes, i am a lardy arse hehe )

How do i go about adjusting the ride height, especially at the rear?

Is this something that a dunce like me can do, or should i get it done when next in for a service? Thanks for your help

I know the feeling well because I'm built for comfort as well.
It's not dificult to wind up the spring seats but for safety's sake I would employ an axle stand and then remove the wheel for ease of access to the shock.
You then need to turn the spring and seat anti clockwise to raise the height.

Think I'm going for the Hot Rod look then. rotate
Just measured mine while I was in the garage, 120 front 150 back.
Handling is spot on as far as I'm concerned and never have any issues with speed bumps or pot holes (but then I do avoid them). driving

Tempted to have a go at dropping the back a bit though. scratchchin
