Hi folks,

Going to view a Chimaera 400 tomorrow having owned an S3 for 9 years. Do I assume that the oil pressure is the same as that in the V8S i.e. 30-35 LBS at 2400 rpm?

Thanks in advance.

Don't forget that the dashboard gauge is only an indicator, there's very little chance of accuracy.

If you have got a good reading on the guage it makes you feel better, but a low reading is probably no different, they are not a reliable indicator.I had a 4.0 which showed 45psi at revs,my current 4.5 shows 30psi at revs, which is correct?,i know they can vary, but still.I've had a new sender fitted which tends to read more steady figures but sometimes the psi drops for no reason then regains what we assume is correct.Electrical resistance also plays a part and condition of the electrical system with regard to compatability of the instruments, namely are they accurate at all.
Just makes you paranoid, cover the guage with black tape, you can't see it then.

My 450

45+ at idle when cold.
15 ish at idle when fully warm.
30-45 when driving

Oh and 0 (yes thats Zero) when overheating accompanied by a few rattles then a steam geyser from the front right as the cap popped off the expansion bottle. First and only time I've seen the temp guage pegged to the right and the oil guage to the left. Luckily no damage.
