My interior light on the hood "hoop" comes on if I move the switch away from the middle position. Should it come on when the door opens ? as it doesn't at the moment - but the locking etc all works fine so I assume the door switches are all OK. ?? ??

My 94 works like this;
Its a 3 position switch.
front of car-normally off, comes on when doors open.
middle position- off
back of car position- on
Hope this helps.

Mines the opposite way around - to the front, permanently on, to the rear normally off but comes on when alarm/immobiliser clicked or when doos are opened. Also stays on for a period on the timer.

When i bought my year old griff the interior light would only work when switched on, not with doors. The guy i bought it from said it had never worked. The connections were incorrect!

This had me going for ages but in my case the light wouldn't go out in either front or rear position. Then I read about the delay relay! Works perfectly. I think the unit can be fitted either way round in the header.

I had problems with my 94 Chim and the door closed sensor thing when the rubber fell off the door. It wasn't pushing the sensor in far enough and the wretched light wouldn't go out after shutting the door ... it's on a delay anyway so a bit confusing.
