My wifes Chim 450 will sometimes not unlock when she de-alarms it.

All that happens is a VERY tiny click when she depresses the button under the mirror.

Tries it several times over 5 minutes, leaves it, tries again (alrming and de-allarming) it sorts itself out!

Any ideas - none of the searches seemed to be the same when I looked.

Help - dont want her stranded on a cold winters night!

As only owning my car for a short while, i don't know if i'm 100% correct on this, (Hopefully the vast wealth of other PH'ers will know more) but, i had a similar problem, as you say, i had to try to lock/unlock the car several times before getting in, eventually i had to gain access via the passenger side, i overcame this by loosening the 3 allan key screws on the lock mechanism, getting it lined up and re-tightening it back up. Violla, not a problem since (i presume it was a case of the lock becoming loose??)
No doubt there are many causes for this, if this little bit of info doesn't help you, hopefully it may help someone else looking in.

Hope you get it sorted soon,

Jeff

The alarm locks and unlocks the car, the button under the mirror pops the door open. If the car is still locked when you push the mirror button it makes a small click noise as opposed to the solenoid clunk noise, that may be what you are hearing. If that is the case the problem may be that the unlock pulse from the alarm may be mucking about, worth checking if it only happens to the one or both doors?
