Thanks Pilgrim13 as you can see have managed to download some pictures this was missed at 1st garage I took car for mot. Then took car to differnt garage to carry out remedial work and mot it seeing that it was there . This garage was on recomended to me by someone. They serviced brakes? and spotted chassis problems and tried to fix both and then failed both on their own mot????? Hence me doing the work myself.

Bloddy hell yikes!!! I thought mine were rotten, but compared to those pictures mine are like new. Well now that I think about it a bit more, maybe I should lift my body of as well so I am really sure. I certainly would not like to drive a car like this it looks a bit dangerous to me.
mine had a fair bit of rust on the underside, but from those pictures they seem to rot a lot from the top scratchchin.
must have a much closer inspection on mine soon.

Hi Grant

It seems incredible that the original MOT testing station missed the chassis corrosion or you could say what chassis as there is very little left of it.

Have looked at the new Automotive solution in a very recent thread as they have ready jigged chassis

I think they do supply only if you want to fit yourself

Good luck

Hey all. I have had a worrying couple of weeks because I was told that mine needed a full body off in order to repair a badly corroded outrigger. I took it for a second opinion and a new MOT and it passed. I am now really unsure what the bench mark is that would cause a failed MOT. I think I am going to go to Offords and have them replaced without the 'body off' option.

Blimey!!! How old is the car?
I really can't understand how people can let their chassis' get in this sort of state. If regularly treated it should be fine. Though I can understand the tops of the riggers (front and back above the corner plates) theres really no excuse for not noticing that centre piece that almost goes round the entire tube.
