More serious than that I'm afraid. Happens to all TVRs and some Lotus models. Basically, the stiffest part of a TVR body is the windscreen, so it takes a bit of stress, particularly round the edges where it is bonded to the body. Delamination occurs - the bonded layer separates from the rest of the winscreen, water gets between the layers and this is the milky area you see. Only solution I know of, other than living with it, is a new windcreen (which will almost certainly go the same way).
When I was looking around for my Chim I saw one that had obviously had the same problem. What they did is mask off the bottom 20mm or so of the widscreen and then painted it with some special black paint that sticks to glass. Whilst this will obviously not cure the problem and sounds a bit of a bodge it does a very good job of hiding it. Might be worth trying.

Quadbod - you miss the point! The milkiness is between the layers of glass in the laminate. I did hear of somebody claimg to have implemented a permanent fix on an S by mounting the windscreen on some of rubber rather than bonding directly to the bodywork to reduce stress on the glass, but it sounds doubtful to me. I have owned 3 TVRs and all have developed this to some extent, and the process does accelerate in the winter. If you only use you car in the dry you may avoid the milkiness, but the delam may still be there.
I have seen a couple of Chims with this problem at a reputable TVR/Lotus dealership recently. Their fix was to attach electrical (type) tape accross the width of the screen, fitting the tape under the lower seal. It looked ok as it was a satin finish and covered the dis-coloured area.
I know it sounds a bodge and suppose it would be interesting to see how long this lasted, but it did look better.
When I asked a saleperson what sort of tape it was he was less than helpful, perhaps embarrased?
Steve.

We use vinyl sign writing on our company vehicles and was considering get a vinyl mask made to cover the black part of the screen. If it was made of very thin vinyl I imagine it might look alright.Have had this problem on all my recent TVRs and must admit it does spoil the appearance.
