Water Pump?

Battery light on, car getting warm even without number plate on> Does this sound like a dying water pump?

sounds like your pully belt has snapped to me, dont run it if it has have you checked it?

Not to sound thick, but which one should I be checking!

What age is your car??, Do you have 1 or 2 belts??, either a big thick one or 2 thin ones. With the engine running is the water pump spinning??
Just looking in the Bible 2 and if you have a pre-serpentine which I am guessing you do then the alternator and water pump are on the same thin belt. If its serpentine then it will be obvious that the belt has snapped!!!
