Theres a post that has probably broken and needs replacing.

Do a search on the forum, its been covered many times. I believe the problem here is getting another one of the posts in isolation...

Oh dear. Tell your wallet to brace itself.

Similar thread here.

And new mirrors seem to be becoming like hen's teeth.

If it's the tower they are readily available from either a TVR dealer or a Citroen dealer (they're CX series II mirrors as I remember).

If it's the chassis I recommend tracking down a spare one from a scrappy. When this happened to me someone very kindly went to his local scrappy and removed a mirror from a CX and shipped it to NZ! What a star and it looks like it saved me a couple of hundred quid!

The mirror chassis do tend to rust. Also the fitting the door could have been done one of several ways. The tower on my car had been partly bonded in place and the but on the top of the tower was screwed so I had to drill a small hole through the inside of the door so I could insert my alan-key and remove it! Not a nice job - be prepared for plenty of fibreglass rash!

Happy ending...removed the mirror as per the bible ...the grub screw had worn loose. The whole allen key thing was just too tricky so I unscrewed the pivot from the door and refitted the grub/collar, re-inserted the whole thing and hey presto....we have reaw view.
Thanks for the posts....most helpful.
