Having just done my first post (under 'New Owner') I decided I'd like to start a whole new one of my own.

I've eavesdropped here tiv-free for a few years, but will be joing the ranks tomorrow.

Please welcome me and my ramblings, as I'm feeling just a little bit scared of my purchase! Oh dear - What have I done?!

Don't worry - I felt exactly the same a few weeks ago. But at that final moment, when they hand you the keys, you get in and fire up your marvellous machine... makes it all worth it. Then go and drive everywhere, take it home, show your mates, and then do it all over again! It's yours, all yours! Enjoy it. I know that I have, and continue to do so!

6 weeks on and i`m still grinning like an idiot. So many nice comments when out and about from complete strangers makes it pleasing too. Never look back.
Enjoy enjoy enjoy.

Woohoo! I got a response!

I'll be getting a rosso pearl 1997 5.0. Not even sure why I've gone for a 5.0, but once I'd spent £35 on the bible and therefore committed myself to getting a chim (me and my money are not easily parted) I got greedy and wanted more!

Pick it up from Swindon tomorrow, so I have a couple of hours drive home to get used to it before replacing the grimace and frown with a grin!

BTW, I'm rubbish at mechanics, so will no doubt post some really stupid questions soon!

They’re not all bad. Had mine 4 years. To date several services + petrol (nothing unusual there then). 1 x battery (c£50), 1 x otter switch (foc – warranty), 1 x start motor (£200), 1 radiator re-core (£150). Oh and a few sets of tyres.

It does 2/3 trackdays a year, and lives under cover in a heated garage when it gets cold or dark.

Where’s the problem/worry…?

Good choice of car, take it easy on the way home when you pick it up.

It is a far, far better thing you have done, than anything else you ever will.

Plastic surgery is required to remove the grin, but apart from that...

Leaving now... I'll even enjoy wading through the dead kebabs on the way to the station... might even smile at the grumpy ticket inspector this morning!

Jigs...did you receive my mail? Yes thanks all sorted now at last. When I finally picked it up from the dealer after a number of weeks, half a mile down the road the engine cut out again I decided to put it into Austec and they diagnosed a number of faults within an hour and rectified them in a day Not the dealer's fault I hasten to add...TVR had sent them a replacement ECU unchipped so my Trev thought he was a Range Rover with an automatic gearbox and no cat
