As a new Chimaera owner and not left it out in the rain before I now have soggy carpets in the front drivers side, rear side panel carpets and the carpets under the seats in the rear.
All of the usual places under the bonnet have been sealed with silicone by Austec and today I have Thompsoned the hood etc.
Is the seal to the targa to the screen and the hood prone to leaking, who does the seals?
Any where I should seal?

You should be able to get them at your local Chinese supermarket,

Seriously your have taken the right move to cure the wet under the driver seat. One coat may not be enough though. Try four or five to fully impregnate it (ooh err) and then it should only need a couple of coats each year.

Drivers foot well, well I’ve been trying to cure mine now since October hopefully yesterday I may have found the spot, time will tell.

Make sure you have sealed all the obvious places under the bonnet, including pop rivet heads IIRC they are hollow. WTF TVR don’t used sealed rivets is beyond me.

The place I found that I hadn't previously sealed was tucked up at the back of the engine bay, on the driver’s side and obvious runoff area for water.

It was the edge of the heat shielding tucked down in the corner of the engine bay. You’ll need a torch to see it. It had a frayed edge to the heat shielding that had no sealant on it, so I thought I’d try this next.

If that doesn’t work then it's GOT to be the screen wipers, where they go through the body. How the hell I’m gonna get to them I don't know. Hopefully I wont have too.

Hope this helps and keep us informed of your progress.

I'm sure that you guys probably know this - but the number one place for water to leak into the drivers side footwell is the seal around the brake fluid reservoir. Even if it looks like it is OK re-do it as it often moves and flexes when the brake pedal is pressed. As you can probably work out all of the water that comes down the windscreen and over the back of the bonnet flows over this seal.

Another place to check is the door seal - it should have either two squares cut out about four inches from the vertical bits or be pinched in here. Basically the water will get on to the top of this seal by running down front and back of the door frame, and without the cuts / pinches will leak over the inside into the car.

I've had two Griffiths and managed to get both of them completely water-tight.

Good luck,

Mike.

When you get all the possible leaks sorted invest in one of those Moisture Absorber things for caravans - £3-£4 in Halfords (Caravan Section)and put it behind the seat - sucks up pints of moisture.

PS With webbed feet you can't wear flip flops which definitely gives you a good style advantage.
