Sorry about the title

The horn on my chim is only a single tone. I assume it should be a dual tone horn normally, so there must be something up with it. However, I don't know where it is under the bonnet - can't see anything obvious.

Anyone know where I should be looking, and what might be up with it?

Try behind the grill with a unit on either side.

Sorry its a 98 with no grille - still the same place?
If so, how do I get to it. I've got the book, if you want to refer me to a page....

Get under/in front of the car and look through the air intake and you should see them. Failing that look in front of the rad from the bonnet. Failing that get a bit further under the car and look where the the air intakes are from underneath. Page 127 has a piccy of a Griff and show where the ice detector is located. The horn should be nearby... I say should be as they have a habit of moving round but that is the general vincinity.

Had a quick shufty at it at the weekend.
I can only see one horn, on the passenger side. There seems to be a loose plug near it, but that could be the ice detector sensor, I suppose. Might try and grab some piccys to show you what I mean.

Ok, got round to taking some piccys.

#1 - 2 loose connectors below the horn (passenger side)

#2 - view of the horn, the single connector and the loose connector

Sorry about the size (1024x768).

Has anyone had one of these horns out and had a close look at it? The photos were taken through the slats in the front.

I will try to help, but iam griff! I had no horns, well no noise, and replaced them from halfords. If you can not find two connectors then i would strap two to the connector you have. Go to halfords and find two tone horns, ie one low horn, one high horn. Sorry if i have stated the bleeding obvious. Did this the wrong way round, just seen your pics. Exactly how mine were, ie corroded conectors. Do as i said above.

Final update - I had to avail myself of Joolz's services when a leaking clutch master cylinder left me with a significant inability to change gear....

Had him look at the horn whilst it was in and he replaced it - an £8.10 part....
