..well I put the Ad into the Classifieds here on Tuesday, and a bloke came along yesterday and bought it. I'm really going to miss it but needs must I'm afriad..

..I will return to the TVR fold again, although I think it'll have to be a Cerbie next..
or a Griff500
..or a Tuscan
...or a Chim500
.....or a Big Wedge
......or...

Either way, thanks to everyone who gave me advice/comment/abuse about the Chimaera, and I'll still hang around here and chip in where I can.

I suppose that's a good news/bad news story Matt.

Hope to see you back in the fold soon.

Well that's a good result Matt, I had to have mine in the classis for nearly two months but maybe I was being a bit unrealistic with the price at first. Mine was like yours though - sweet as a nut and everything done. First bloke I could entice to see it bought it. And that always happens with the good cars.

What was the price of yours - I didn't see it before it went.

Sorry to hear of your employment woes - but then you're in a different industry to me (publishing), so I don't know of the niches for jobs like yours.

You'll be fine though, I'm sure. I'd have another Chim tomorrow, but for now I need a decent 'weekend four seater car' - an American one - for me. Needs must and all that.

Yeah well. I could have asked for more, but its an early 1993 4.0 so it was never going to fetch mega bucks, if I'd have priced it higher people probably wouldn't have come to see it so I'd just get stuck with it and end up dropping the price anyway.

The guy who bought it had looked at a couple of sub 10k ones, apparently they were rough as sh!t.

Cheers
Matt.

When i was in the market i looked at all sorts from £10k - £13k for early cars. The price noticeably resembled the condition. The 10k cars needed £3k spent to be in the same condition as the £13k ones and then you didnt know how the engine was going to be in an unloved car compared to those that were clearly treasured.

I ended up buying an early car that was mint. For what I paid I could have bought newer but the one I ended up with was looked after to the point it was obsessive! 4 services in the last 6k miles, never used in the wet, absolutely immaculate.

Yours sounded similar and I think you got a fair price for it mate.

Good luck with whatever you buy next.

mine is a 93 with 31k on the clock. I paid towards the higher end of the bracket I previously mentionned. HTH

Matt, just cottoned on to your troubles, sorry to hear about the situation and that the TVR had to go. Hope you find a way forward soon, at least now you can go past County when you want a TVR fix!
