Thank you PH'rs!

On way to work today a nice man in a BMW (they DO exist!) told me I had no brake lights
So I do a search on the Chimaera forums, copy and paste a load of info into a text document, print it out and march out into the car park at work hoping to goodness I could work it out
...and I did!
Checked the fuses, they were fine, checked the placing of the brake switch, fine, so decided to remove said switch and see if there was anything wrong inside. Sure enough, one of the contacts had oxidised and was not making proper contact. Took it apart, cleaned it with a nail file (girlie emery board thing for fingernails) put it all back together and hey presto I now have brake lights!
Not bad for a girlie 3 weeks into TVR ownership!
PH ROCKS! I am not worthy
Thank you all.

Hi guys!
Thank you for all the kind words
The switch looks as if it has two rivets in the top but it is actually just clipped on. I carry a Swiss Army knife about with me (damn useful thing and of course has a corkkscrew for those impromptu picnics!
) so I just levered the switch apart. There is a spring and a metal plate with contacts that connect to the 'rivets' which hold the spades for the connectors on.
I was just dead chuffed that I could fix it myself, having continuously bad days at work at the moment so
it cheered me right up!
