Halfords works for me. The main thing IMHO is the get the right capacity (cranking amps) and physical size so that it fits. Most batteries seem to come with a 3-year warranty and in a TVR you might need it - so keep the paperwork!

Twenty percent off batteries in Halfords at present - you need a 072 (630amphr) battery.

My Battery died a few weeks ago whilst on holiday in the depths of darkest Scotland. Rang the RAC who turned out a local recovery agent. I told them to bring with them a type 72 Battery. A cheery Scottish chappie with tow truck and new battery arrived less than an hour later. He confirmed my diagnosis, fitted the new battery and checked out the charging system. With my assistance he then replaced the battery box. In the circumstances thought I'd be getting my trousers pulled down and expected to have to fork out around £90. He apologised for the exhorbitant cost of the battery and presented me with a bill for £47.30. I was so overcome with emotion that I was moved to tip him a fiver!!

I couldn't find a battery that would fit into the box without sawing the moulded fins off the sides and base, thereby invalidating the warranty.

Hurrah!
