I think if you take 30mph as an average you will not be far wrong

I think it's actually 28mph on the later gearbox/diff as already stated. Which equates to 84mph at 3000 revs - a good guide to see how accurate your speedo is. Mine reads 88mph at this speed.

That is 5964 revss for 167 mph - Ouch - Watch the piston come through the bonnet - doubt it will pull that. Well over peak power and aerodynamics can't be that great.

Just tell anyone that is what is sez in th handbook.

If you get to 5964 in top you will need all your electronic detectors Colin. Max speed so far prosicuted in Uk is 157mph - the nutter on the Bike last year.....

According to Autocar road test it was 27.5mph/1000rpm. This was on an early car but I doubt very much if final gearing changed on later 'box or even different engines.

I was wondering that Dodger, Idle brain on way to work, etc. My 4.0(1998)shows 80 at 3k revs - which might well be the same allowing for a little TVR inaccuracy (surely not!)

my 450 seems to be showing nearer 25mph/1000 rpm, is the gearing different between 450's and 500's, if not is it more likely that my speedo is pessimistic or my rev guage optimistic???
