Need an oil filler cap for a 97 chim, there seems to be two types - OFC5 (replaces the original orange one) and OFC6 (replaces the yellow/black cap).

Bearing in mind the one I had was neither orange, black or yellow. Which one do i need or does it not make a difference?

If you have the orange cap you can cut all the plastic off which then leaves an ally one just requiring a bit of polishing.........ok, quite a bit of polishing, but they do come up really good with a bit of effort and you can put the money towards something else nice and shiney.

Cheers Al.

Ok, ok, will sort some pics out in a couple of days, but other people on here have done this cos here's where I found out about it. Also if you have yellow/black cap it can be removed along with the extension/neck and an orange/newly polished ally cap fitted. Pics to follow soon.

Cheers Al.

Good of you to show a left-handed one as well as the more common right-handed one - Equality rules on PH.

That's it, exactly how mine came out, very easy to do, won't bother with the pics now then.

I have an oragne one with an extension neck, so would the newly stripped orange /alloy on efit back on without the extension neck...? that extra weight could make all the difference

That's what I did, the extension neck should just unscrew, with a bit of help, and the newly polished cap screw in the empty hole.

And while we're on the theme - if you polish the walnut off your dash, you'll find an ally one underneath....
