tracking/tyres
Discussion
hi all, about a month ago i was nearly run off the road by a coach,, i caught the alloys v-badly on the pavement {Lreg chimaera}. i think this has put the tracking out..hench the tyres wearing slightly one side. Can i get the tyres+tracking done before having the alloys repaired?..any help advice appreciated...
Is the alloy(s) still round or do you need to replace it, if its buckled then you cant have the tracking set on the car with that wheel as the tracking sensors are mounted on the wheel istelf.
Depending on the repair (!?) required to the wheel you can get the tyres and tracking done assuming there is not a buckle in it.. Best bet I reckon would be to get a tyre fitter to give the existing wheel a spin on the balance machine and check that the wheel is straight before planning any further.
Cheers
Matt.

OK, well assuming there is some undamaged rim left at the front for the laser-tracking tool to sit on, then yes you can get the car tracked beforehand.
As for thet tyre change, well I reckon this depends on how someone is going to fix the wheels, I would expect whoever does this will want the wheels tyreless anyway.
Cheers

Edited to add you're not getting uneven wear at the back too are you ??

paulsmith said:Paul, sidpinup had some wheel damage repaired a few months ago, and was well pleased with the quality of the job and the price! I'm sure he'll give you details if you contacted him through his profile, I suspect it might be a local company (i.e. in the West Country), but it would be worth a call. Cheers, Paul
appreciate that, the wheel is not buckled,,,,, still round..just outer rim -- front and back wheel on one side damaged,,,{if were to run your hand round it,,,you would cut your hand,,,} if u know what i mean,,,many thanks
