What service do I need?
Discussion
Please forgive my ignorance. I've got a '98 Chim 4ltr with 17800 miles on the clock. It was last serviced a year ago almost to the day...the next service record in my little black book is 30000 miles. Does this mean I'll be forking out for the cost of the 30000 mile service? Would this be more that a 'regular' 6000 miles on service, if you catch my drift?

I think (but stand to be corrected, that the major services are every 12,000 miles. Hence the 30,000 mile service should (I think) be similar if not the same as a 6,000 mile one. The service schedule is on the web somewhere - Henley Heritage? - which would confirm this.
Eventually, though, you're going to be faced with the prospect of an X-mile service when the car has only done 1/2 X miles, if you see what I mean. Personally I'm in two minds on the answer to this one!
...er.. hope this helps!
Kev, you seem to be getting a lot of hassle all at once!
AFAIK it should be a normal 6,000 mile service. My personal view is once a year minimum, 'cause if something starts to go wrong it could be
a. very expensive if you don't catch it early; or
b. very harmful to you if you wellie it when the car has "gone off" or has something ready to break.
You could always get the guys to check things out about the fuel consumption at the service.
