Well thought i would do one last job before the weekend and check the oil pickup pipe was clear and put new gasket on the sump, all was going well until i managed to slip with a spanner and snapped the connector off the oil pressure sender frown

So I need a new sender I have tried searching on here but cannot find the part number or anything ( i would rather not pay £60ish for a tvr part when i can probably get a rover part for alot less frown

So does anyone know the part number or which LR/RR its off.

Any help very much appreciated as I want her back on the road for the weekend guys its going to be sunny frown

Well it is definitely not a MK1 VW Golf or Jag XJ6 as I found out to my cost! (I bought one of each of ebay in an attempt to strike lucky wink )

They are VDO senders but the thread is too small on the VW and too big on the Jag!

This is on my Wedge obviously, but an RV8

Tried getting Famous Four to source this part but no reply as yet. From what I can tell, all the RR/LR's use a much smaller switch style part.

Ended up getting mine from TVR Power at £39.99 - Still not cheap but at least will work! Their part No: N0126 - White Gauge/Serp

Beware there were 2 types (that both look the same) depending on whether you have the black early gauges or the white Caerbont gauges.

i purchased mine from a land rover dealer to find the thread to small , but a dip in the plumbing fittings allowed me to make it fit , and it works fine .(single connection type)all you need is a brass bush and a roll of ptfe .

Could you not solder a short piece of wire onto the broken bit of sender and join it to the original wire for a temporary fix?

Are you not referring to the oil switch rather than the oil pressure sender?

The part is dependent on your gauges not the engine.. Both Chim gauge types use same thread (1/4" NPTF) into a brass bush (1/2"UNC IIRC) to fit in the engine tapping. ETB and Caerbont are a reasonable supplier of the senders price / delivery wise (depending which gauges you have)...

Grifters also have the Stewart Warner dials to worry about..

Pressure switches on the other hand are a standard LR part, do be warned there are a couple of versions that switch at different pressures. Just affects how early the warning is and if you wish to compare against your pressure gauge??
