The steering UJ (behind the o/s front wheel) has become rather loose and wobbly recently. Anyone any idea if this is an easy part to find and where from?

Cheers chaps

While you're at it, fit a gaitor to protect the new one - they last much much longer when they're protected from heat and dirt. A steering rack end gaitor fits nicely, and they come in pairs so you can do both UJs while you're at it.

Just another question, on tvrgear.co.uk, I can buy an upper or lower steering UJ, for some reason i thought there were three, but I take it the one to the rear of the wheel arch is known as the upper one?

Cheers, Dan

There is a linkeage rod that goes from the bottom of the steering column to the rack itself, this has a UJ at either end of it to facilitate rotational continuity, hence 2 UJ's. the "Upper" one, is the one at the bottom of the steering column, and the "lower" one is at the Steering Rack. You will find that the Upper one is also higher off the ground than the lower one too (and further towards the rear of the engine bay)

Cheers
Matt.

Cheers mate, for some reason i thought there was one down by the pedals too, so i wasn't sure whether the upper one was actually known as the middle one!!

I know now though, I'll order one tomorrow!
