Hi Folks,

I know these blippers are the bain of TVR owners, bloomin' things are dodgy at the best of times. Anyway, I've searched the multifarious threads on here and can't find exactly what I'm after - hope someone can help.

I recently left my Chim in the garage for 3 weeks without driving her, when I did go to give her a whirl I noticed when I unlocked the doors the indicators didn't flash as normal. De-immobilised and turned the key - zilch. No fuel pump whir, nothing. I assume the battery was as flat as they get. Connected up the charger, left her for 24 hours and the car leapt into life next time I tried, no worries.

So what's the problem? Ever since this episode my key fob blippers seem to have ceased working. A right pain as I can't lock the car if I have to leave her somewhere. I'm wondering if the flat battery episode somehow disables things and there's some sort of reset procedure I have to go through to get the blippers working again???

I'm sure others must have had this problem?? - I'm sure it's not the blipper battery's as they were both recently replaced.

Anyone got any ideas of how you reset these things?

...failing that, can anyone recommend a good replacement alarm/remote blipper system and a dealer in Sough Bucks??

Cheers all......

Yep, me 3.
The same story. Battery whent dead. Charged back up. Key fob doesnt work. I can use the immobilser on the stearing column, but everytime I open a door the indicators & alarm indicater light are triggered.
I checked the key fob battery but this is OK.

Hi lads

Very common at this time of year...(is that the same as TADTS?..)

Try this first...disconnect the battery for 30 secs or so then reconnect. This may cause the plipper to reset.

Whatever you do...don't try pressing harder on the remote...(human nature).. you will probably end up damaging the board.

If the above fix doesn't work contact Carl via his website www.tvruk.tv who is our alarm expert.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

I had the same problem and was told by a TVR garage to disconnect the alarm unit, leave it for a minute or so and then reconnect it, it is a bit of a pig to get to though, let me know if you want distructions.

Had exactly the same problem earlier this year. I rang Carl because I thought it was an alarm problem. His suggestion to disconnect the battery for a minute or so did the trick. Careful when you reconnect as it will probably set the alarm off!

Me four ! Has there been some recent electrical surge / storm - seems quite a coincidence , wonder if the recent cold weather is the key ? Is there any way of checking whether your blipper is working ? Just like you guys can;t be sure whether the blipper is dead or weather the alarm system / battery is the problem. Will try the "disconnect the battery" trick and let you guys know - can you post when you get succeed with this problem ?

Our bliper is now working after a sunny day run on Sunday.

Could the problem be driving to many miles with the roof on?
