Does anyone else get complaints from other TVR drivers about the exhaust noise of your Chim?

Mines so loud that my friend in his 350i refuses to drive behind me.

From about 4k - 5.5k I get a magnificent whistling sound, almost like I have a turbocharger, but am starting to worry if it is a leak in the exhaust system instead.

Am gonna try and record the sound tonight.

Did you have the baffles removed but the perforated pipe left in place? the whistling might be a stray piece stuck between the holes... mine whistled like that so i had straight pipes to replace the perforated ones

Funny you should say that, my mate & wife followed us all the way to Belgium a few weeks back on his motor bike. Even with crash helmets on they said it was driving them mad so they stayed well back.

They must have been telling the truth after all

/me daren't contemplate why you would be wanting to be sitting at the computer in the complete dark.

I exagerate! not exactly dark, but ambient lighting.

Think I might have to change it, or get a desk lamp! OH

One of the jobs this winter is an exhaust mod...just not sure which way to go...I want loudness, but a decent sound with it..pops bangs stuff like that!
(I will want to retain the cats at this stage).

Out of interest, anyone had experience of:
1. just de-baffling
2. or, de-baffling and welding in straight pipes inside the box.

i think u have the baffles removs but the perforated pipes left in situ. followed Trackdemon's Chim last year and that is what it sounded like...

last month i got my baffles removed and straight through pipes fitted...what a racket! i dont think anything like this should be allowed in residential areas....!

Evening all, this is a post two kind of kill two birds with one stone. The first being that I got my exhaust sleeved at Austec about two months ago and have to say that it now sounds absolutely bloomin marvellous. The noise it makes it truly fantastic and I would advise you all to get it done. The second bit of the post is that I got pulled over for speeding yesterday in Brighton on the main road that runs parallel to the seafront. I'm not too sure I agree with the officers opinion of my speed as he pulled me over pretty much as soon as I'd pulled out, but he did make a comment about the volume of my exhaust and we had a bit of a laugh about it. He was a charming chap and bade me farewell with "have fun". Just goes to show that many of the BiB are human and very reasonable people. Still, got to love my loud exhaust though, sounds like the dogs proverbials! Have fun! Simon

I have had the baffle removed, but not sure what type of pipe was installed...

I have left the cats inplace though!
