Inside weather flaps

Can anyone pls tell me whether to pull these flaps as tight as I can before attaching to the velcro or should I push them in the gap between the bodywork and the roof ? Thanks.

Those ARE flaps, elephant ears are completly different!

I do the outside velcro first and tighten the flaps afterwards. And I'm not even a plastic surgeon!

Thanks. Wasnt sure if most of the flap should end up on the carpet instead of the velcro but obviously it does.
