I am going to replace the rear light cluster, should I pay more for the new-style rear light cluster or are the afterburner lights just as good. I think the afterburners actually look nicer...(sorry if that annoys newer Chimmy owners)....Keith

Dannyboyo has a set, Oh and cosmoschick has I set I believe. Having seen both sets I think cosmochicks definitely have the edge.

I have a set (much easier to retro fit than the later style)and I'm very pleased with them.

I had a set on my Chim and think they're better than the later ones. If you go to the link on my profile there should be a photo there. Sorry still haven't sussed how to put links or photos on here, I need one on one tuition with an adult.
Edited to add:- has anyone put clear lenses in the new style and a rough price per lens, may just get Afterburners again if cost is similar.

Cheers Al.

I love the afterburners and would have had a set of them before the updated rear light clusters I think.

And as has been said, they are easier to fit.

Not sure about them any more. They're too modern (not to mention, fussy), if I ever did it, I'd upgrade the interior too as its very traditional (walnut dash, off-white dials...)

Plus I've seen them on the back of Novas and pals now.

Cheers Big Al, that's my old motor that is, they're definately the best and far better than the old Festa units.

Merry Christmas, Al.

Darren, you never did like them! But I hope you'll make an exception in my case

Edited to add: Happy christmas to you, Al (Tweety).

I was starting to get converted to them... grows on you doesn't it but then I saw them (very similar styling) on some Saxo...

Anyway on you they're great. I'll happily polish your afterburners, Cosmos

Hi there,
My Chimera is at the body shop as i speak having a rear end shunt repaired. While its there its having the after burner conversion and i thought i would go the whole hog and have the new Type R headlight conversion also. I should get it back by the end of Jan so i will give you the verdict then.
But all the pics of converted cars which i have seen look awsome!

Afterburners...

Still interested?

Out of interest, how do these prices compare to the usual source:
www.quadconversions.com/tvr_chimaera_and_cerbera_led_aft.htm

"The LEDs are expected to out last the life of the car." Couldn't work out if they are taking the piss or not.

That looks well smart. I cant wait to get mine back.
Has your rear bumper got an unpainted black strip across it or is that just the light reflection.
Any way very impressed.

Any tips on this.
