I recently removed my dash for re-veneer. The veneer was hideously knackered - far worse than it seemed, with very little actually still in contact with the backing plate once removed.

I has a bit of trouble with the ice warning light - it was bonded in with no obvious connection close to the dash to undo. Brute force removed it but not without a little damage. I still have the other warning lights bonded to the backplate, but they had connections to undo so less hassle. Car is April 1996, and one of the last pre the alloy surround warning lights.

Questions are:

Should the warning lights separate from the backing plate?
Why didn't TVR use the same glue for the veneer as they did for the ice warning light?
Is it possible to fit the later alloy surround lamps to the earlier dash?
