I'm by no means an expert but thought I'd share my experience. I got this type of noise when I had air in my radiator, this was due to the rad having a tiny leak. Once the radiator was fixed (got away with using Radweld) the noise went away.

I'm sure the experts will be along shortly to advise!

Just had another thought.... I was advised to park the car overnight with some sheets of newspaper underneath. When I got up the following morning I could see instantly where the leak was.

My 4.0 did this for ages - I think it was air in the heating system. Didn't seem to affect the car in any other way though, so left it.

That's a great idea - a combined TVR/washing machine - gives a whole new meaning to taking the car for a spin!

Hi All, I don't mean to be an alarmist, but I seem to recall the 'bible' suggesting not using Radweld or similar, can anyone else recall this?

Cheers

Big Al.

IIRC Radweld should only be used as a temporary measure. It coats the waterways with a paste that will coagulate around any leak and seal the hole.

I personally would only use Radweld in an emergency.

I need all the waterways as to be as clear as possible!

Cheers for that.
