Heater Fan (again!)
Discussion
There have been lots of discussions about heater fans on here with no clear indication of where it actually is! Well, I found mine today ... it's to the left of the battery in the pasenger foorwell.
I have removed half the carpets, the ECU, battery, fusebox, moved the heater pipes, drilled out the pop-rivets and broken the mastic seals all round the panel. Now I can see the fan but I can't get the panel or the fan out.
Has anyone got a picture of the fan and panel out of the car? It would sure help to see what was going on in there!
Cheers,
Andy
PS: This problem not helped by the fact that I left my mirror-on-a-stick behind the radiator grille last ime I changed a light bulb and I'm too lazy to take it all apart again to get it out!

Deepest Sympathy mate. Mines just gone TU and I'll be spending the weekend trying to find out why. I think mine might just be a loose connection as it went through a fad of running and then cutting out when I hit the brakes and starting againwhen I hit a bump - that sort of stuff. I'm starting in the passenger footwell. If there's nothing there, then I'll take the dash apart, if I've still no luck then - god help me - I'll be pulling up carpets with you!
Hi had the same problem, turned out to be the alloy heatshink box behind the dash, when I undone the 4 screws and pulled out the PCB board there was a broken connection, just a small soldering iron the problem was fixed. Just like the rest of you I first thought the problem was the actual fan,
