Last year I was with Sunninghill, this year I'm with A1. Get out your copy of Sprint and ring all of the insurance ad's....you'd be amazed how much you can save by spending 30 mins on the phone.

Yeah I used Tesco's last year. First TVR insurance, only car so full NCB used - Age 36 clean licence £860 That was the best for me of about 15 quotes.

If you have don't mind limited mileage mine was £355 for 3000 or £520 for 5000. That was based on 34years with no NCD (second car)Second driver at no extra cost and breakdown cover included.......Norton Heritige. Without limited mileage Adrian Flux weren't far out. Happy hunting!

Try online at www.confused.com. They search several insurance companies, and have had some very good non-TVR quotes from them.
Actually, got an OK TVR quote thinking about it. Griffith 4.3 12000miles pa, not garaged, 5yrs NCB, 27 and £900ish. (one of those sundays when it's raining and your bored ).

Couldn't agree more than with this.....I saved over 400 squid with these guys over both my cars, and they give free track cover on certain events......back of the net!!!

I thought I was expensive but you lot all cost more than me!!

Direct Line ...

Chimaera 400 '94 = £448 comp cover, full NCD, unlimited mileage, garaged, excess any one claim £400, RH16 postcode.

And I'm not as old!!

Not sure about track days though, I didn't bother asking because it wasn't applicable at the time.

You can pay in monthly instalments if necessary.

26 yrs (27 yesterday actually), 6 yrs NCD, garaged in Bedfordshire, Griffith 500 93L reg.

£633 limited to 7000 miles pa.

Was with Mannings last year, now with Sunninghill - both have been very good.

Moral of the story here and above is:

Ring round as many as you can be bothered to. Like everyone else here, my quotes were spread over several thousand quid!

I'm insured with Tesco. Absolutely brilliant. Cost me £650 F/C, on my new Elise 111S. Which was around £200 cheaper than the next best. (I'm in my twenties, (just!) good postcode, garaged, max NCB etc..) Also, I've taken out new Lotuses from the local dealer on demo. One phonecall - covered no probs for the day - no charge). I always get through to someone quickly. Really can't fault them, although no track day cover.

OK, now this will make you all feel a lot better:

450 Chim, 98/S, 12K a year, on the road (at the time), full no-claims (protected), 28 years old, only car, N1 postcode - with Peart....

are you ready....

£2,000 (and that was my best quote)

But it was my first "performance car" insurance.

Hoping next year it will go down!??

So was mine!! If you discount the XR2i

I've been with Direct Line all my driving life and never had to make a claim...

Maybe they've concluded I'm a viable proposition
