OIL Pressure sender

I think my oil pressure sender has gone kaput. When I turn on the ignition the needle goes right over to the right (before the engine starts) and stays there. The leads seem to be attached okay. The bible reckons these sensors are vunerable to vibration and go pop every so often. So. Has anyone ever changed one? They're not easy to get at so I haven't been able to properly size up the job. I'm thinking axle stands and just unscrew it from underneath. Any special tools required?
Also. I'm looking at new tyres. mytyres.co.uk have S03's and Toyos on for tiny money (whole car re-shod for £300-£350!). I have 205s on the front (1996 4.0HC with PAS), can I put 225s on? Will it affect the handling? All help appreciated.

My oil pressure sender went exactly the same way a while ago. I think it is fairly straightforward to replace, if you can get underneath. I didn't change it myself, but it only took the local garage 15 minutes so can't be too bad.

I also have a 96 4.0HC with PAS, I've got 205 S03s on the front which were fitted last year. I thought about going for 225s, but decided to stay with what was on already. They've been fine, I've no idea whether 225s would feel better though.

There's Still SO2 PP's to be had for about £80-£90 a corner if you have a hunt about. 205 is plenty for the front surely..

is the oil pressure sensor a TVR only item or can i get one from rimmers to do the same job as it looks like a standard rover v8 item

Done it. Not too difficult with my primate length arms - I could reach round the chassis and work through the bonnet rather than going underneath.
Heater fan has packed in now though - Grrrrrr!

I replaced the dreaded leaking sump gasket on my 500 chim,had to remove oil sensor for access,easy peasy.

Just remember it's got a tapered thread rather than a washer, so be very careful not to cross thread it when you're screwing it in.

It also has to be done up tighter than I expected - I was spraying out a litre of oil every 500 miles until I noticed the fine coating on the back of the car! Still, at least my chassis will never rust now...
