"with 103700 miles on clock this vehicle has below average miles for age"

Lordy, I bet the average mileage for '94 Chims is nothing like that.

Is it a wind-up..?

"only purchased the car two months ago and i am only selling due to insurance reasons as i am very young"

"have seen similar cars advertised at around the £12,000 - £13,000 range"

"as i purchased this vehicle only recently i have been informed by the previous owner that he did not send off log book for change of ownership and i have now obtained the log book off of him but still in his name"

mmmm? Makes you suspicious yes?

Mines got 57K on the clock and realistically worth £10K so there is NO way that he will get that for 104K miles.... suspicious on the V5 and the rear window - £275 for a new back vinyl window - your having a larf, its £100 fitted!!!

Wonder what the reserve is, but doesnt add up to me. I am sure that someone will buy it!

So basically the logbook says this bloke doesn't to own the car, however he'll give you a scrap of paper from himself once you've given him your money, to prove the purchase and ownership of the vehicle.

If I'm doing the person a dis-service then I apologise but my initial reaction is a suspicious one considering all the times we are told how important it is to have correct V5 docs etc etc etc.

I'd probably take the risk for £5K if I had it spare...

that £5k bid hasnt hit the reserve yet though. So if the seller thinks equivalent chims are going for £12 - £13k the reserve may be quite a lot higher. I agree, for £5k it would be fun for trackdays if nothing else.

Be interested to see how much it goes for in the end though.

Dick Turpin TVR () have one up at £9999 which I thought was quite amazing really.

The fact that the seller's name is not on the V5 makes me think it's not his car. It's suspicious that he goes to such lengths to explain this.

Damage to rear window = nicked? Reposseion? It *might( be pukka but definitely proceed with extreme caution, HPI etc.

it would be easy to check with the previous owners on the V5 - besides the V5 is keeper not owner - so you could ask to see receipts... I reckon the young lad bought on a spur of the moment and then had an insurance problem - new points/claim etc then renewal came up???

In my local evening paper, yesterday, there was an article saying that there has been a number of V5 documents stolen from the DVLA. So even now, it seems that a correctly documented V5 is potentially not fool proof.

If a deal seems too good to be true it probably is.
I got sold a set of Calloway golf clubs last week still in their wrappers for half the normal retail price. Needless to say despite the sellers assurances they were shonky. I got my money back.

The story attached to this car doesn't quite add up to me. I would steer clear, there are plenty of good, genuine, cheap cars for sale in the classifieds.
Ask me how I know.

Spod time....

M99 RAT was the car featured in the June 1999 issue of EVO in the buyers guide. Looked in alot better nick back then though.

And I have to agree it all smells a bit fishy!!!

£1,500! That seems a bit steep for a pretty boring plate.

The AA vehicle check site is down just now .

Odd shaped plate for a Chim.
