My n/s door mirror is missing the outer rim. It's like a bezel about 3/4" wide that connects to the mirror at the 4 black rubber lines. Without it, the mirror glass sits slightly proud of the mirror body.

Does any body know if you can buy this bit separately, or is a whole new case required?

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Nick

Usually part of the mirror unless you can find a broken one. Tower View might have a bit as they have a stock of broken mirrors they keep for spares.

Mirror carcus in the post from Tower View.

I need to paint the bezel the same colour as the existing main mirror body. As its such a small area (3/4"" wide) I'll give it a go myself.

Unfortunately I cant get an aerosol from TVR. Does anybody know if I can get a the equivalent colour from Halfords or similar if I know the paint code (I presume the colour may be used on a normal production car)?

The colour is starmist blue.

Any ideas?

Nick.
Starmist blue was formulated by TVR and isn't a production colour. You might have a problem with getting a aerosol made up in this colour.

A TVR bodyshop should be able to paint it for you or why not paint both rims in a semi mat black.

Thanks Jon,

Just spoke to the factory & it is fact a TVR colour.

I spoke to ICI autopaint (01449 771771)& they gave me a no. of my local paint mixer. They've mixed me an aerosol for 7 quid.

Top stuff.

Nick.

Nick I'm sure you've got my old car.

As I remember when I stopped in a service station to fill up the washer dept on the way down to deliver it to James, there was a Merc van parked very close to me, I'm sure thay must have bumped it off when I was in the shop stocking up on Mars bars.

Hope you get it sorted. Great car by the way, enjoy it!!

Yep it is Nick.

Its funny because James said he remembered not seeing this bit missing when he first viewed it!

You've also just solved the mystery of the water on the garage floor. I was thinking the rad had got a leak but after taking the front grill off to investigate further I noticed the water was coming from the filler pipe into the washer bottle (phew).

Yep car is still in good hands & have spent some time over Christmas sorting a few bits & bobs.

New bit for mirror on the way - so all is going to plan.

Cheers for the car!

Nick.

PS still having a bit of difficulty re. immobilser certificate but I'll speak to Noel again.

Uncanny - I bought a 4.0 yesterday ( ) and have the same thing. So now I know how to sort it, can anyone tell me how I find out the paint code for my car?
