Head lamp bulbs.

nooooo.whatever you do,dont do it!!even with std bulbs the wiring is barely adequate.ive heard of people fitting uprated bulbs with no probs, but none with that high a rating!both left and right lights run off the one line as std,and the lights are noticeably brighter if you modify the loom so as each has its own line.if you want brighter lights then modify loom or fit the higher output for std rating type bulb from demon tweeks and the like.i think modwise do a good loom mod kit and also sell uprated bulbs aforementioned.hut49 said:

Not to mention the retinas of anybody who happens to get a full-dose. Imagine giving way and getting a quick burst from those as a 'thank-you'!
And everytime you flash someone the car idle drops to about 200!!
With 80/100 bulbs, on dip they'll be drawing about 11.5 amps. On full beam about 14.5 amps. And I'm not sure, but when you flash don't both dipped and full come on at the same time if you already have the dipped lights on?? If so then it'll be drawing about 26 amps. All this is working on the voltage been 13.8v. If it's 12v then times these figures by 1.15.
I think I'm right in thinking this anyway, anyone.....?

Indeed, don't let those guns
out to play or we will all be blind!! lolIm going to fit the mod-wise better lights kit then upgrade the lights to 100/80 (only for off road use!!)
The improvement in the wiring with the kit should take the higher wattage lights with no probs. Not sure about 200w lights though. It does sound a bit extream or are you trying to get in contact with another planet!?!

Hi Guys
I changed may headlight bulbs over a while back for performance "+50%" bulbs. Had the whole assembly back together before I realised that the originals (the ones I'd just replaced!!!) were 100/80 bulbs. I have had my car from new so these were the ones it left the factory with. I had to do the whole job again

Exactly what I found already in my headlights when I looked. 100/80s. Not melted since they were installed in 1995 so the factory must have thought they'd be OK (what do they know). I'd say Modwise's loom upgrade would make sense if you're worried. After all this time I'm not going to bother with mine though.
