Simple question re mirrors

Are the mirrors designed to fold back flat (ish)?
I assume they are but thought I'd check first just in case.

Mine move, but fold back? never tried it. After seeing the price to fix, if broken. I don't think I'll be trying either.

The door mirrors are designed to turn in (and up slightly).

However, after a few weeks of doing this to get the chim in the garage, the turning mechanism seized causing the nearside support (3-pronged) stalk to fracture which meant that the only thing preventing the door mirror from falling off was the electrical motor wires!

You have been warned!!
