WET!!! Nooooooo
Discussion
After a whole shed load of rain I've discovered my usually bone dry interior wet. It only seems to be the carpet underneath the drivers seat & some water has then flowed under the rest of the carpet towards the pedals (but getting drier the further forward you go). None of the side bits of carpet are wet except for the thin bit below the door.
I'm guessing that either water has come up from below the seat (is this possible??) or the door seal at the bottom is somehow leaky. Seems a bit weird that it hasn't happened before though. Or at least I've not noticed it before.
Anyone had a similar leak and got any ideas for cures?
Cheers

I bought my car privately from a guy, he was quite honest about tye car and seemed to know an awful lot. He explained to me that the car had a leak where water would settle under the backdoor side of the drivers seat. If you pop open the bonnet and look at the drivers side wing you will see a square panel with sealant around it (I think it's the suspension turret)if the seal has broken the water runs through the car and settles under the drivers seat towards the back, it's possible this will need to be re-sealed, the guy took the car back to the TVR factory for a service and this was also done and fixed the problem..I think it's a common problem and not very expensive to fix..I hope I am right ..I'm sure the guys on here will correct me if I am wrong or they will have other explanations for this leak.
Good luck

I think you need to look at Elephant ears in earlier forums, try: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=59530&f=8&h=0&hw=elephant+ears
I don't think you need to pop the bonnet - that panel is for the Clutch Master Cylinder, not a "suspension turret - there arn't any on a Chimaera!!!
I bet your problem lies with the door/hood seal.
Have fun.
