Boot Help!

Ive looked in the search files but this it a bit sensitive!

Pulled my golf clubs out of the boot and they caught some wires that were poking out of the carpet on the rear side .. It was dark but I could feel the frayed end of a wire. I had to close the boot as it was raining. 3 days later I've tried to get in it and it wont open. No noise coming from the boot release when I press the button or with the Mod-Wise kit fitted. Looked in the bible but car is year 2000 and thought they my be an easier way then the one listed Can anyone help? E-mail address is in profile.

Thanks for this.. This is the same method as in the bible and is in some of the answers on the archive. Big Al has also removed some other more sensitive stuff.. is there an easier way than this i.e from inside the side door panels? because I can still get in the car.
