Finally done it
Discussion
After a long while lurking I've finally done it.
I've been trying to find a perfect S3 but I looked at the Chimaera 4.0HC at David Gerald's this morning and liked it so much that I bought it!
Pick it up next Saturday and I'm already grinning like a compete grinny person.
Can't wait for next weekend.

Congrats. DG's is only about 10miles away from me!

Im pleased for you Tone, and know exactly how you feel, got mine last night, 95 4.0 cooper green, much smiling since, even in rain. Any tips on how not to look like smiley idiot? I'd settle for slightly smug. Only other expression is 'eek! what was that noise' short frown, then back to smiling and aching jaw. I hope you have better weather next weekend! get your teeth nice and clean this week

Funnily enough - the same thing happened to me 2 years ago. Walked in and bought my Chimaera the same way - been very happy with their work the past two years - even though they are 120 miles up the road!

DG's had a splendid stand at last year's Classic Car show at the NEC. Had 4(?) Chims and a Griff all reasonably priced and good cond. All Sold! One guy wanted his Chim on the Sat, so they had to get another up there for Sunday - that sold too!

My what fun!
I've already filled her up twice, that low mileage will soon be cured!
Question though - I ran down to Somerset last night - steady 2750 rpm in top down the M5 (J9 to J25)- and she didn't want to warm up at all. Thoughts?
Seems odd, most temperature related posts refer to overheating not cold running. Might that relate to the 12mpg at last fill?

I was on a long run a few weeks ago (Birmingham-Dover)
and the guage didn't get up above 70. Almost straight onto the M-way from home then steady run, low revs, 70ish all way. It was quite cold weather so I guessed that the cold air and the fact that the engine was doing virtually no work was the reason. MaAnaged 22mpg on way down and 25mpg back (although weather a bit warmer on return).
