Check that both of the door light switch plungers are being fully depressed (they are in the sills & get pushed by strikers on the doors)
Does the interior light go off (after 10 seconds) when you shut the doors? (obviously you will have to put the light switch in the right position for this to happen)
Do you have the central locking switch on the central door knob? If so does it work when you press it?

johnny bravo said:No it can't be turned on & off, but the reason I was asking about the interior light is that the mechanism won't lock if it thinks that the door is open. This can happen if the door switches aren't pushed in correctly - what you then get is a solenoid *thunk* & then another *thunk* as it unlocks.
No the switch just makes a clicking noise when you press it, When you say is it "on", can it be turned on and off? Or is somethang broken
The mechanism can be seen behind the carpeted flap that is on the left of the passenger seat (held down by velcro, and tucked into the rubber door seal IIRC)
Might be worth opening this & seeing whether the mechanism just needs oiling...
My Chim has the interior light delay removed because it cases this sort of problem, I believe. Peninsula have removed the delay relay - top right on the fusebox and bridged it with a wire and 2 spade connectors so the light goes off as soon as the door closes.
That might be the problem, but I have a Meta alarm and it doesn't sound as though you have the same alarm though.

It sounds like the Foxguard type remote, two button next to each other, led in the corner, phillips screw on the back holding the two halves together?
Assuming it is then the two buttons both do the same job, the one on the left is silent, the one on the right does the same with beeps. Both will flash the indicators the same way.
Assuming we are talking about the same alarm then I would check there is a pulse going from the control unit to the central locking relay.
