Catch the pigeon....R.I.P

I've hit a pigeon on the way home tonight R.I.P However its had the last laugh because it has smashed my headlight. So assuming I can get one tomorrow from somewhere can anyone help with the following questions. I have read the bible seems straight forward enough. 1. Are the units sealed or can you just replace the lens ? 2. What is the mastic used to seal the headlight in place is it Sikaflex ? 3. Will I need to get the headlamp adjusted ? Is it worth struggling to undo the bolts holding the cover in place or should I jack the car and use the inspection hatch (sounds like more hassle to me). All contributions greatfully received (no animal pro-lifers pls) Finally has anyone got experiance of asking HL Gorners or Christopher Neils for an emergency job on a Saturday morning ? I guess it should take a dealer more than an hour to fix as they know what they are doing ?

I think the units are sealed, with the bulbs fitted from behind. You'll find it a lot easier to undo the inspection cover. Think the fairing around the headlights are just masticed in place, but might be quite wrong on that.

At least the kamikaze pigeon had good taste. It might have hit a Micra!

dont you just hate pigeons, one took my whole wiper arm off last year. sat in the middle of the road just staring at the car, didn't relise the car was doing 110mph

Got the lens from Christopher Neil this AM. Headlamp cover proved to be difficult to remove because well sealed (nuts easily reached through front grile). Note no need to replace whole unit as lens sold seperatley. No need for help this time I must be getting better
